Basically RDi is WDSC on steroids. The basic workflow will be familiar to you but many features have been added - plus there are some great plug-ins.

Sign up for the WDSC-L list here on midrange to keep up with the news.

In the meantime my partner Susan Gantner has written many articles on the topic of RDi which will give you a good idea of where it is at these days. If you google "site:ibmsystemsmag.com RDi gantner" you'll find a whole bunch of them.

She has also published quite a few for ITJungle "site:ITJungle.com RDi gantner" gets you those.

All of these cover features and enhancements as well as "how to sell RDi to your manager and other developers" type pieces. There should be a few video links in there too.

Hope this helps.

All,

Just got the word today that my boss is committing to upgrading our 7.1 IBM i to a POWER9 and iOS 7.3 (lift and shift) plus is open to buying seats for RDi. Now I need to push this decision over the finish line. What do I need to do, find out, research to present to my boss to get this done? I used to use WDSc back in the day but with no direct knowledge of the difference between that and RDi.
