I've been starting ACS from the java file since ACS became public. I have a
different folder for each customer which has all the customizations needed
there, and that keeps all the customer files separate. I've never had a
problem doing it that way, although the examples I put out on this list
always use the ACSLaunch.exe.

Wasn't someone recently chastised on this list for using something other
than the *.exe for starting the product? If so, then using that solution
seems to counter that.
From section 7.2: "The preferred way to start the product is by using a
platform specific binary file available in Start_Programs. The scripts in
Sample_Scripts should only be used if the platform specific binary does not
work. "

So is there some other .properties, .ini or some other way to set that?

Open ACS, Help -> Getting Started -> "7.0 Starting the Product" (as of
version 1.1.8.1) ->"7.3 Starting the Product (using the command-line)"

Normally in Java you can specify the memory size by passing in "-Xmx4096m"
for 4 GB.

How do you do that with acslaunch_win-64.exe? I tried acslaunch_win-64.exe
-Xmx4096m and then did a generate service logs and looked at the output
dump file and searched for Xmx, but it still shows -Xmx1024m being passed
in.

Is acslaunch_win-64.exe hard coded to 1024 MB?
