I cannot do that at many of my customers simply because that requires mounds
of paperwork, signoffs, etc. Auditors love to zone into any insignificant
thing that gives them the ability to over generalize how a system is being run, particularly when they can't spell IBM i without being spotted the "I".

I use CHGCMDDFT as needed. I created a CL program and add various CHGCMDDFT entries as needed for my environment. Whenever I installed new releases, cums or ptfs I simply run the program, that way all commands behave the way I need them too.
