Hi Rob,

I thought I was experiencing deja vu when I saw your question pop up.

Here's the answer I gave last time you asked. ;-)
https://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l/201507/msg00410.html

Not much has changed since then, but I did write an article that puts it
in the broader context of database memory usage:
https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibmi/library/i-temporary-storage-and-db/index.html

Hope that helps...

Subject: What is "*DATABASE Segment Cache"?
Sent by: "MIDRANGE-L" <midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

I ran this sql
SELECT bucket_current_size, bucket_peak_size, RTRIM(job_number) concat
'/'
concat
RTRIM(job_user_name) concat '/' concat RTRIM(job_name) AS
q_job_name,
s.*
FROM QSYS2.SYSTMPSTG s
ORDER BY bucket_current_size DESC;

The biggest thing was 200GB of temporary space tied up by a non-job:
"*DATABASE Segment Cache"

What is that?
