See my ORIGINAL post to this thread. Your i 7.1 MUST contain at a MINIMUM TR8 or itnoworkie on POWER8. I don't know which RSx that corresponds too as I use custom DSLO exclusively. However it is EXCEPTIONALLY likely that any media you find lying around will NOT have TR8 and thus will fail even to boot.

You CAN easily burn the media downloaded from IBM. Simply get IMGBURN, it's Free. It's easy. It works. I bet I've been using it for a decade. The Drag and Drop problem is that you usually end up with a DVD with ONE file on it such as "iBase_01.ISO" and that ain't a gonna boot nowhere.
