They must be getting sick of calls on the subject. I've been getting a lot
lately on the subject as well.

I can get customers up and running in 30 minutes or less, without needing
to import any CAs (which is a whole subject in itself) and using MS's
proper SMTP server setup and allowing sending from any account from Office
365 (which can be tied to your user profile or not) with not only an SMTP
option but an OAuth 2.0 option as well.

This documentation and solution, however biased I may be, is just stacking
band-aids. If you go through this setup it it's links to links to links..
and the MS solution they offer is one that MS says:

This option is more difficult to implement than the others. Only choose
this option when:
-SMTP client submission (Option 1) is not compatible with your business
needs or with your device
-You can't use direct send (Option 2) because you must send email to
external recipients.

Well, option 1 that MS offers for 99% of other clients IS compatible with a
better IBM i SMTP client. I know who has one that's done this the right
way for over 15 years. And in the end will cost less than the days you'll
spend chasing your tail with this.

Just for the archives.. there are better options out there.
