REXX doesn't really take much to learn.  The biggest thing is how to switch between CL commands and SQL commands (the ADDRESS statement).  The rest is all basic programming.  DO, IF, SELECT, CALL.  I find it the easiest way to interface between SQL and OS commands, and given the ever-expanding repertoire of DB2 services, it's quite the system administration tool.
