I was asked about this from my boss. Working closely with him I can guess he’s thinking stuff like:
How did they improve performance of SQL? Did they do something along the lines of:
- SQE vs CQE?
- SQL Plan cache?
- SQL optimizer?
- what?
So I did some research and I find ONE item listed in “Db2 for i - Performance Enhancements”. And that item is: “IASP vary on performance is improved”. Now this may be a big thing for some of you but we really don’t find it applicable to our operations.
Is there something else I am missing in how 7.4 improved the performance of SQL?
