SQL inside COBOL is not that much different than RPG, at least for what
you're after, so I'd consider that.

Are these programs still OPM? If so there might be value in moving them to
ILE with the SQL precompiler.

Aside from remembering, which will come fast, you should not have any real
problems.

I haven't done any COBOL on the i since 2004,. so you're right, I'm
no longer an expert but am trying to get back up to speed. Not to be
argumentative, but is a logical file really the best solution for a report?
If not, what is?
