Slot 45 is the reserved slot for the cleaning cartridge.
Slot number varies by model.

I believe there's also a particular slot in your magazine you're supposed to put your cleaning cartridge into. If you use the web management port on your media library you should be able to find it.

Checked the label, it compared correct to label from previous tape.
Lettering must be up/down, above the bar code, CLNU05, example.
There was an issue years back when we ordered these, they came through with the wrong label, we had to order new labels for all the tapes.
I'm trying another new cleaning cartridge, waiting for results.

I use the auto clean feature, so next request for auto clean will tell the story.

Is the barcode label correct? Tape in the correct position?
If both true, then most likely bad cleaning tape.

To show it's not a bad cleaning tape, manually mount it and see if it gives you the same error. If it does not cause a problem replace the barcode label (just for grins if no other reason)

After that, a call to IBM (assuming maintenance on the tape library)

My cleaning cartridge on my 3573 LT07 recently expired, 50 media loads completed.
I replaced with a new cleaning cartridge.
The new cartridge is not being recognized and throwing errors.
