I've been getting e-mails to register for the free virtual conference
coming up on July 23-24, and I've kind of put it on the back burner
because I don't expect to have time to watch any of the sessions. I
realize they offer the recordings for 30 days after the event, and I
had watched a few sessions in a past event.

Then just yesterday afternoon I got another e-mail, this time inviting
me to tell my coworkers about it. OK, sounds good. And the nudge was
enough to get me to click the link to register myself, just in case I
have time after all.

Well, the page that comes up says registration is closed. Nice.

Is it really closed already? I didn't see any mention of a
registration deadline, which I would think is important to highlight
if you're sending out an e-mail so close to that deadline. (Or even
more likely, *past* that deadline. I strongly suspect I would have
gotten the same result had I clicked on the registration link
yesterday, the minute I received the e-mail.)
