RE: Expanding a field in a file or adding a new field to the file

I agree with Rob in that you should expand the existing field.

I would presume the token is not displayed/printed anywhere so the
maintenance task is significantly smaller that say changing the length of
the debtor account number and having to worry about every display and
printer file.

And if all programs reference the field definition then changing the size
and a mass recompile will be fairly straight forward.
