Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I'm pretty familiar with issues around CCSID 37 vs 285 because the main two
clients I've worked for in the last 20 years had mismatches between their
DEV and PRD machines - one had 37 for PRD and 285 for DEV and the other had
it the opposite way around.

It gets even more hilarious if you find yourself working with things like
CGIDEV2 and using ifs files for templates etc.

I know that of the common character set there are a couple that trip you up
- $ and £ and one of the square brackets (I forget which one) is different.
But as you say, it was easiest to just substitute the $ - -> £ and see if
anything else came out of the woodwork and it did not, that was all that
was required.
