Look at it this way, suppose there was a hiper which came out after the cume which said "in rare instances your disk drives will become unrecognizable after putting on the cume and you'll have to unload/reload using a new respin of the OS" don't you think you'd want to put that on at the same time as the cume?
BTW, the quoted text was not from any example or experience and was totally fictitious and to be used only for example purposes.
