I'm actually quite good at intelligent scraping, and I'll schedule some of my off time between customers on trying to mirror/scrape whatever I can.

Subject: Developerworks imminent demise - Save the content!

Greetings,

As you all have seen IBM is sun-setting this at the end of the year. I think we can all agree that the loss of this information would be, well I'll just say: 'Bad.'

We at COMMON in partnership with our friends in COMMON Europe are in contact with IBM, specifically with the person who owns Developerworks.
Our goal is simple, don't lose this content.

There are several options on the table at this point and we're not sure which will prevail but leading contenders including IBM migrating this content within IBM, likely to Communities.

From our perspective however this is not a done deal and we also don't know if they intend to move the entire thing, or just pieces and parts.

SO Here is my ask:

Go there, comment. Be respectful but be very clear. Tell them which parts you use and would miss should they go away. Telling them to 'save the entire thing' does not carry as much weight as being specific to the parts you personally utilize. And pass the word to your friends and fellow IBM i supporters. I would love for them to cry 'Uncle' because we've sent them so many comments!

And when you are there, tell them that Midrange-L and COMMON sent you.
Let them know there are additional parts of the IBM i Community.

'There' is here:
