You are looking for the sshd_config file.
The ls -l /usr/sbin/sshd should have given you a version. You have 3 installed, I was just looking for which one you are using. 99% 4.7.

You are in the /QOpenSys file system, the ../.. backed you up to /QOpenSys so in my case.
/usr/sbin/sshd -> ../../QIBM/ProdData/SC1/OpenSSH/openssh-4.7p1/sbin/sshd
Tells me that I'm using the 4.7 version.

To answer the other question, yes, the ListenAddress line will take a host name.

I'm a little concerned about the file /QOpenSys/QIBM/UserData/SC1/OpenSSH/etc/ssh_config
Is it only for clients, or for the server too?
# This is the ssh client system-wide configuration file.

Ok, on my 7.4 system I have a ssh_config file in each of these:
/QOpenSys/QIBM/UserData/SC1/OpenSSH...
etc
openssh-3.5p1
openssh-3.8.1p1
openssh-4.7p1

Based on https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/allowing-or-denying-access-ibm-i-secure-shell-daemon-sshd-using-group-profiles do I assume that for 7.2 and above it uses /QOpenSys/QIBM/UserData/SC1/OpenSSH/etc ?

And I need to add one of these lines?
ListenAddress xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx replacing that with the IP address
ListenAddress gdweb
Gdweb is the host name of that particular IP address. One of the very few host table entries permitted on this system. We plan on a data center move and I'm trying to minimize having to stress through every config file on every lpar.

Looking at this now...
Where is this file? " The SSHD configuration file should be reviewed for fitness to your security policy."
I want to ensure that it doesn't attempt to bind to all IP addresses. I have one IP address supporting SFTP from GoAnywhere.

Ok, I hear all this stuff about how using qsHell and/or pase to process some things isn't quite as kosher as using a ssh client, such as putty. I think Scott Klement explained it with "Need for a "Real" Unix Terminal". I'm starting to accept that.
