Re: 5251/Twin-Ax terminal emulation

A lot of the emulation cards are missing software - especially those 
that are not IBM, AST, or Emerald.  And nearly all are missing the DB-15 
to dual TwinAx dongle.  I recently sent a NiB AST 5251 model 11 and 12 
emulation card manuals and disk pack to bitsavers.org for archiving - 
including the 8" floppies for file transfer support on S/36 and S/38.

I'm specifically doing it for both conservation of the technical 
information and the technical challenge.  It would be nice to have a 
fully open and documented twinax interface project that covers both the 
hardware and software side of things.   I appreciate the market 
twindata.com services and not trying to undercut it.  You get what you 
pay for in software maturity and technical support.  But it would be 
nice to have alternatives.
