It's easier to fix a faulty DNS compared to update countless *DEVDs. DNS is *required* for Active Directory to work, so I wonder why DNS problems should be there in the first place, als your comment suggests.

Of course, if the printer guys don't talk to the AD admin to add DNS entries, well…
