Why should I? In the 1990's I was still to young to even know about Token Ring, so in a way I envy you. ;-)

Must have been something else. Fedora appeared in 2002. Usually, for years, everything driver'ish was compiled as a loadable kernel module if possible and shipped in /lib/modules. But still, the 1990's were the time where people were compiling their kernels themselves for performance reasons.

I still have ONE connection at my workbench labeled "T/R Port 12." :-)
