There is another option to doing backup to physical tape.  You can save
your backup to cloud storage.  Sort of like what you might do with your
home computer... or cell phone.  There is a new product 5770ICC  Its
pretty inexpensive , it provides the connection software for allowing you
to create a device that the IBM i to several different Cloud storage
options. It integrates with BRMS as well.
