Sounds to me as this will fix the Signal 11 problem. I'm pretty sure it won't fix any of the secondary stuff you mentioned (lots of job logs, deprecated config parameter, *WORLD trying to hack into sshd by sheer user/password guessing or trying to exploit known security flaws).
