Hiya Laurence,
Last I checked the FTP server on IBM i did not offer the ability to
resume. (its been awhile since I checked, though). The one on AIX
does support resume, however... You mentioned Power server, but didn't
mention which OS.
On the client side for IBM i the FTPAPI tool does support resuming a
transfer. But, the basic IBM FTP client does not (or, did not when I
last checked.) Not really sure about other OSes besides IBM i

I wonder if anybody can provide some advice here. Currently we run a
standard ftp session from one Power server to another each day. The
testingare about 40GB in total but that's not an issue since it's in the DC and
the Power servers have GBe NICs.
We now have to do that transfer over 2600km on a shared 200Mbs link. We
haven't deployed a Power server in the remote location yet but in
variouswith running ftp on a Windows 10 machine, we are experiencing the
occasional dropouts. We would ideally like to move to sftp but for
couldreasons we cannot upgrade the source machine at this time.
FTP is not great protocol but we are stuck with it. We were thinking of
using something like WinSCP on the Windows client so that at least it
--resume a failed transfer. Well that is what is documented
