In June we ran full system saves on LPARs across these type of systems.
Power 8. 10k spinning drives
Power 8. 15k spinning drives
Power 9. SSD's
Those 10k drives are dead dog slow.
I have times down to the minute on each. I can also supply summary info from PRTDSKINF *SYS and WRKDSKSTS.

Also, if you move DC's and they don't send you a truck with a lift gate and you have to push cabinets holding these units across a parking lot rough enough you have to screw a caster back on the SSD's didn't give us any issues. However we (totally coincidentally I'm sure) lost a spinning drive during that move.
