Once I moved away from prompted I've never gone back. Not even for a 'simple' query. Too limiting when it came to a decision time whether to do it and lose prompting or forego the additional capability of not using the prompting.
OTOH, if "users" are modifying the queries they may be loath to lose prompting.
Been a long time since I used Query/400 and/or STRQM. I found modifying forms in Query/400 ok. I could not discipline myself to take the time to learn how to become proficient at modifying the forms in STRQM.
