Actually, its not just people coming from SQL server stuff
We also had to do this on ANY changes to anything on the AS/400
Our auditing department insisted on it
I hated it - sometimes, the commented out code was larger than the actual code itself
FINALLY - they had us stop doing this when we showed them how we could retrieve prior versions through our change management system - Implementer
From that point on - EVERY time I change a program with commented out code - THOSE lines are removed

Vern,
I find that people coming from SQL Server stuff are seriously big into commenting out the lines.
Not sure if their origins don't have those options like Run SQL Scripts does or what.
Had a vendor Zoomed in and he was doing that on my PC to use SQL Server to update some files for GoAnywhere. It just seemed weird to me but I just let him fly.

This works fine - you don't need to do all the commenting and
uncommenting - just position cursor in the statement you want to run and
use Ctrl-R, not Ctrl-A or Shift-Ctrl-R.

Now if you use Ctrl-I you will get all the examples - type 'object' in
the upper-left box and you'll see the services related to objects, from
which you should be able to adapt one for listing objects by type.

Regards

Vern

I used this method. Seemed quick and painless. Might not be the best resolution though ...

Using ACS SQL:
Step 1 - uncomment the "cl:" stmt and run it.
--- cl: DSPOBJD OBJ(*all/*ALL) OBJTYPE(*QRYDFN) OUTPUT(*OUTFILE) OUTFILE(abclib/x);

Step 2 - comment out the "cl:" stmt.
- uncomment the "select" stmt and run it.
--- select * from abclib.x

Yes. Where did you search and which ones did you think might have been it?
