IBM i does allow a hybrid which would match 90+% of the DDS logical files on our system.

CREATE INDEX IIML01 ON IIM (IPROD)
WHERE IID = 'IM'
RCDFMT IPI100IM
ADD IDESC, IADJ, IRCT, IISS, ...

The only problem with that so far is that the vendor's logical files have the column IID before the key columns and that's not kosher.
