I believe that's without the underscore.
Test:
select current_date, field5, field6
from mylib.table2 where status = 'active'

Thank you Carel, however the current date does not exist in the "from" table
so what I'm perplexed about is how to get the date and put it in there. I
just don't know SQL well enough to add that column to the statement.

Use CURRENT DATE.

Folks:

I have an SQL statement that's about:

Insert into mylib.mytable ( field1, field2) select field5, field6 from
table
(mylib.table2) where status = 'active';

Works well, but I need to insert the current date into the result
table, something like:

Insert into mylib.mytable ( currdate, field1, field2) select field5,
field6 from table (mylib.table2) where status = 'active';

What I don't know how to do is grab the current date and stuff it in
there.
There's no question in my mind it can be done but I am failing at
internet queries to find a method.
