It appears as though IBM is trying to drop regular FTP in favor of the
secured FTP, although I cannot fathom why. What's to protect with a bunch
of binary downloads that can't be used unless you have a copy of IBM i
available, and anonymous log in?

The implementation date was June 1, but clearly they've blown that date out.
(not that I care, I don't)
