The IFS component of ACS is considerably improved as of a year ago..

Though you may need to bump the memory to handle a large number of files...

java -Xmx3072m -jar acsbundle.jar

worked fine with 414,298 entries

Granted, on the box I was on, returning 414k entries took about 15min..

I have also seen this issue when there are toooo many files in the
directory.

We had a situation where there were over a million files in /TMP and
nothing would display the files.

Once we deleted a lot of files every option to show the directory worked
again.

Use EDTF and find the size of the directory you are wanting to look at by
using 6=Path Size

If i try to run wrklnk , i'm able to see olny the initial folder (until
the
folder that begin with G), and than if i press pagedown , the session
remains locked; only with alt+esc+2 i'm able to exit. I have the same
problem with operation navigator , if i click on IFS (integrated file
System) it don't work ..

Any suggestions ?

What is the "initial folder"? Your home directory?

How is all that related to stuff beginning with G?

Can you get a directory listing via qsh as Kevin suggested?
If no, can you get it via ssh login?
If no, can you get it via FTP?

I suspect there are files with special or even control characters in that
directory which 5250 might not like.
