Cool! I just took a look at some stuff in QSYSINC, to see if I understand anything here! opendir is in the DIRENT.H member - so this would be from the C/C++ library functions, as I understand it.

There's other stuff in an IFS.H member - things like fopen, fread - there isn't anything there about directories that quick perusal showed me.

And now I feel like I'm adding more murk to the air here!! Time to get back to my RPGish tasks!

Vern

Interesting - so I just looked - fopen is in the C/C++ set, right? How
do C/C++ developers work with directories? There wasn't anything obvious
in stdio.h.

Just curious on a Friday morning!

I know there are two sets at the file level Vern but I've never seen
anything other than opendir etc. for directories.

There are actually 2 sets of APIs for working with the IFS - the C++
set and the other - maybe they are in what are called UNIX IFS APIs?
So many choices!

I absolutely agree, but I assumed those were the APIs that are being

You don't mention trying the C directory functions opendir, readir,
etc.
That to me would be far the easiest approach.
