I'm not sure if you can replicate dns and dhcp between servers from disparate operating systems. But I just don't know.

In your case I would replace that aging Windows server. Either with a newer Windows server or a Linux server. And still get a backup or two to replicate between. And maybe have them all be the same OS. Either all Windows or all Linux.
If you have multiple sites then do not put them all in the same site.
