True, you would have to mount the directories whenever the system is
restarted. That's true of every system. On the opposite, If you were
exporting the directories then you could add them to /ect/EXPORTS and they
would automatically be exported upon the NFS server start with the mount
daemon.

After creating the IFS directories
I have add several ADDMFS lines to QSTRPGM
like:
ADDMFS TYPE(*NFS) MFS('192.168.168.200:/NFS4AS400XLS') +
MNTOVRDIR('/NFS4AS400XLS') CCSID(1255 1255)
I had not explicitly started NFS client processes
Perhaps it does start automatically

Does anyone have examples on how to configure NFS on IBMi as a client
a server on a QNAP NFS Server?knows
I have the guides from IBM, but they are only good for someone who
what to do.
Create an empty directory in the IFS where the the NFS server's content
will be visible. Start the NFS client processes (strnfssvr). You need
listexcept *SVR. Use strdfu on qatocstart to make these run at IPL time.to
Then, it's just a matter of issuing a MOUNT command (probably edit
qstruppgm to make it happen at IPL time). Use F4 for help. You may want
use "soft" instead of "hard" as mount option. This allows requests totime
out and to eventually unmount a no longer responding server without anIPL.

Does that help?
