Thanks. I know SCSI pretty well for ages, from my Macs. ;-)

(which is internally translated to a Unit ID).

Unit ID and SCSI ID either aren't related, according to what I've documented in my table. Or I can't see a relation. If there is one, I'd love to know about it. That's what my question is about.

Tape = SCSI 0
Opt = SCSI 1
Disks = SCSI 6, 5, 4, 3

Thanks. I've already put stickers at the appropriate locations so I don't need to guess. :-) Btw., ID 3 for optical works just fine. But good to know that it's usually 1.
