I'm on 7.4 of IBM i. I am using 3 different Power systems, each with multiple lpars. I am using a HMC.
On my "hosting" lpar
DSPNWSD returns
Resource name . . . . . . . . . . : CTL02

WRKHDWRSC *CMN returns
Resource Type Status Text
CMB12 290B Operational Comm Processor
CTL02 290B Operational Comm Adapter
These are created when I create the virtual server on the HMC on the host pointing to the guest.
This is the step I have no idea how you do it without a HMC.
If I do "7=Display resource detail" on CTL02 I can easily see in
Location : U9009.42A.<redacted>-V3-C381
Numbers which I can tie to the stuff on the HMC. Especially the C381. With the naming convention started by my business partner that means lpar 3 (my hosting lpar) to lpar 8 (this guest), nwsd 1 for this pair.
