It's a relatively simple matter to chop up IFS stream files into smaller chunks, transfer them, and then stitch them back together on the other side.

So if the save file can be copied to a stream file (with CPY?
CPYTOSTMF?), then you should be fine. (Perhaps even better would be accessing the save file directly *as* a stream file, but I am not sure if that is possible. I know that technically QSYS.LIB is "within" the IFS, but I also know that QSYS.LIB is special.)

Which versions of the OS are we talking about?
