This is a big issue. We have at least 3 applications on our IBM i that
has the ability to send email messages, but only via SMTP. And we're a
very small shop.
We use O365 as of last year... By default, no new O365 accounts (as of a
year ago) allow SMTP - it's a security risk. We had to configure one email
address so that it has the ability to authenticate in a different manner.

I wonder if it was just worded wrong, or IBM doesn't think that places like

anyone (IBM, company, ISV, etc) as we do have a solution and have for a few
years.
