Use an ALIAS for UPPER(process) like:
Select Distinct upper(Process) AS Process_A, etc
Order by Process_A

If I do the order by as : Order by Process, Schedule_Year desc,
Schedule_Period desc, Schedule Desc
it complains that PROCESS is undefined or not in the list.
As the field Process allows both upper and lower case, I need to be able
sort using uppercase.
Any Suggestions would be appreciated.
