I've used all of these in the past from S/38 thru IBM i.
Some with vendor packages, mostly with in-house written RPG programs.

Pretty much any printer should work for that.   Just make sure it's not 
"host based", those typically only work on Windows. Anything else is 
good -- provided you can find an appropriate print server.
