On top of what Brad stated... MS365 and Google are moving away from SMTP authentication altogether. 
Just one more reason we use Brad's tools.

Why?  It's the best out there... :)  And has been for over 20 years.  And
it only gets better.  Let me know when IBM starts handling OAuth 2.0 with
email.  :)  With the time saved with headaches like this is easily paid
for.
