Hm, I've extrapolated that Rumba might stem from SNA•ps client and that definitely show a cared. I admit that it's not an alphabet char, though.

(and worse, later versions of RUMBA had graphical status lines with the alphabet soup indicators in something like Helvetica Extra Light); "II" instead of "X" for keyboard lock, "MW" instead of a message icon for message waiting, and so forth.


I do remember the "II" from SNA•ps, though…

WRQ Reflection, as I recall, had the most realistic status line of that generation of emulators.
