Is X-Window still a thing? I know I had it as a client on my Windows box
for some RedHat servers but really never used it. Command line was fine
for me.

I think that is entirely depended on the application software. For
instance there is an application for hotels that present screens much like
we might expect in IBM i, there is also a GUI for it. In think the one I’m
referring to runs on AIX. The user never sees the command line.
