This is exactly the correct direction.
Don't let ACS depend on the installed Java on the machine, keep the correct version with it. Further, I agree that the IBM Semeru runtime is the correct choice!

I would just bundle the IBM Semeru runtimes with ACS and stop caring about
what Java, if any, the machine has installed. That way you can update ACS
very easily, and the JRE at the same time without having to check for any
other app compatibility.

I don’t know that ACS will fail but there are dependencies between ACS and
Java levels. Reason two is you are missing out on some really wonderful
functionality IBM has added over the last several updates.
Then there are the security patches. Yea, I would be keeping all of them
up to date, Java and the apps.

Hi,regularly
Just wondering, I think it's a bit irresponsible to go ahead and
update JAVA on windows without checking for updates on any applicationslist
that use it. Am I right to be worried that ACS could even eventually fail
completely if it is not maintained? We are on version 1.1.8.1 which dates
back to 2018. Java is around 2020.
