Buck Calabro is all of it. His way is exactly how I output my results.
Depending on what our users what, they can output as a text file or
an Excel SS. If my systems were up, I'd take a closer look at the options.

My systems are down this morning. Moving from a Power 8 S814
with 2 partitions to 2 Power 10 S1014's with 4 partitions and NVMe
storage.

When you use the STRSQL green screen command, you can press F13 and use
option #1 to change session attributes. The second Attribute that can be
changed is sending output to Display, Printer, or File.

Does anyone know if Run SQL Scripts window has the same feature? We were
looking to have the results of a SQL statement be sent to an Outfile this
way, instead of adding an Insert into before the Select. From what I am
told the select is quite large.

Thank you,

Doug

I'm using the ACS Run SQL Scripts program on Windows.
I have mine set to open a new window with the results.
That window has File > Save as (Ctrl-S) which lets me save results to
Excel, etc.

Settings that affect this are in Edit > Preferences > General - Enable
saving of results (at the bottom), and also Edit > Preferences > Results

Hi Doug

We don't have those options in RSS. The closest I know of is to enable saving results - that's a setting on the General page of Preferences. This saves to a file on the PC, or various types, XLSX, CSV, TXT, and a few more.

Maybe for output to an outfile you can use the Create Table using the SELECT as the source of the data - not the most direct way, I suppose.

Cheers
Vern
