While you're getting permission to journal a few files, ask for all of them. We find all kinds of uses for having all files journaled. There are ways you can setup new files to automatically be added to the journal, and you can setup a program to auto-purge the receivers, which is especially easy now a days with the SQL services that can list journal receivers and their attach/detach dates to a cursor. Also, If you take the option to save before and after shots, you can recover bad updates or deletes (except for CLRPFM). Make sure to turn on journal caching to greatly reduce the performance hit or journaling.

Update:
I only mentioned a single file, and did use journaling to find the program populating that file, but other similar files are not being journaled. Still waiting on permission to get those other files journaled.
Thanks for the help (and the rib, Rob).

Incorrect. He says he can't find where the file is being populated.
