There is no need to have the files registered in the journal.
Journaling is for the LOBLOCATOR which points to the IFS file when accessing the data with GET_CLOB_FROM_FILE.

From a midrange-l point of view just remember to have journaling turned on for this file. Otherwise you won't be able to use commitment control.

But your duplicating this email to the rpg list is good as they will be better able to give you an example.

I do understand the basic concept of Open Fetch and Close of Cursors.
But I never had to code SQLRPGLE for over 20 years.
