Hi Patrik

I don't have access to my pre 6.1 manuals so can't check on the older DDS. The 6.1 manual has this behavior described for date, time, and timestamp fields - look in your manual for the words "If the DFT keyword is not specified". This is in the documentation for the DFT keyword.

I'm trying to remember, when did true date/time/timestamp data types come into DDS? I don't think we always had them.

Cheers
Vern

According to page 48 of the DDS manual
"The" DDS Manual? Which one exactly? Do you have a document number?

unless you have the DFT keyword defined for the field, date and time fields are automatically populated with the current system values.
Hmm. I have not found this being described in my DDS Reference, SC41-5712-01. Also, I only know your described behavior with timestamp fields.

:wq! PoC
