Ancient thread (May 2023) but recent update.
If you do the command DLTPFRCOL COL(*SELECT) COLTYPE(*CSMGTCOL)
it doesn't actually delete anything but prompts you with a list of objects
and one option is to delete. Hence the *SELECT.
I noticed significant disk space tied up in these.
I also noticed a gap between two of them. Normally there should be one per
day. But if there is a gap then the system will not automatically delete
the older ones.
I finally collected enough data that IBM was able to identify the cause and
created APAR
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/SE80565?mhsrc=ibmsearch_a&mhq=SE80565
The PTF is not available yet. I've not even received a test ptf yet.
The workaround is to use the previous command and manually delete the older
ones.

What controls the retention period of these objects?

WRKOBJ OBJ(QPFRDATA/Q*) OBJTYPE(*MGTCOL)
