As soon as I saw the words "... maintaining, modernizing and re-platforming CA 2E applications ..." It put me right off. I note that they also convert the code to .Net or Java - and I have yet to see any conversion like that produce readable maintainable code - but maybe that's just me.

The OP might also consider Arcad's 2E modernization tools. They convert the 2E app to a very modern, modularized RPG. This would be a great way of working towards Jack's idea of a web service-based architecture.

Are you looking to throw away everything you have and start over?

Or are you hoping to migrate CA 2E to something else?

In the case of the latter, the only company I'm aware of that's done so is
CM First.

Our development team is currently using an older version of Synon CA2E for
developing screens/applications. The new goal is to be more web facing
using a more modern toolset. While we have a few solutions in mind, we
want to reach out the Midrange community to get a feel for what others were
using in this space.
