The safe way to delete ptf save files is to use DLTPTF.
Now, if you saved a ptf save file from one system, and put it on another
system, then when you run UPDPTFINF it will update the ptf info on the
target system so that DLTPTF will work to delete that PTF save file (if it
determines that it's done with it).
I also recommend you permanently apply ptf's on a regular basis.
If you're not the kind to be putting on test PTF's then what I would
recommend is that you run the following right before you order the latest
bunch of PTFs:
APYPTF LICPGM(*ALL) APY(*PERM) DELAYED(*YES)
UPDPTFINF
DLTPTF PTF(*ALL)
If you put on test ptfs, then stick those in: PTF numbers to omit . . . .
. . OMIT when you do the APYPTF.
If you're running older versions of the OS and older versions of Domino
and/or Sametime then do not permanently apply PTFs associated with those
products. They used to do this weird upgrade process where you had to
remove the PTF before you put on the new version. Latest versions do not
use PTFs anymore.
