Access client solutions java error

I'm using ACS 1.1.9.4 and I'm trying to start a 5250 session on our DR machine. The machine is hosted at another site. After I enter my user name and password, I receive the message MSGGEN005 - Internal error.(java.lang:NullPointerException). When I verify the connection in ACS for this machine, telnet on port 992 is successful. This connection was working under the previous version of ACS. I am able to start 5250 sessions on our production box just fine. The OS on both machines is 7.4 if that makes a difference. The java version being used by ACS is version 1.8.0_151 from IBM. Any ideas what the problem might be?

I am able to telnet from our production machine to the DR machine and I can sign on that way, but I would like to get ACS working.
